Cool Tool Alert: BusinessCard2

I mistakingly found this website the other day while conducting a Boolean search. BusinessCard2 is “the world’s first internet business card, featuring an open, fully searchable, and user-driven tool for professional marketing on the web.” What this means is for researchers is, it’s a candy store, and we have a pocket full of change :)

You can put as much or as little information on your card as you want. The more info obviously, the more searchable. For searching, you can then browse for other business cards using the basic search for cities or states, or you can check out the groups section. You can subscribe to Group RSS feeds for new discussion topics, create a new group or join an existing one. You can also do a specific name, company, city, state, or zip search.

Once you find someone interesting, you can either “pocket” their card (basically bookmark it), send it to a friend, download it to your address book (VERY sweet), or contact them directly.

I think this particular site has a lot of potential to be a great researching tool - Paul DeBettignies thinks so as well!

Next Cincy Tweetup – Friday, November 14th

The last Cincy Telecommuter Tweetup was so awesome, we’re doing another one!

Join other Cincinnati area telecommuters for a day of working in a collaborative environment. We’ll meet at Crossroads Community Church – the church graciously offers free wifi and coffee during the week for the local community. The idea here is to have folks who work in many different job functions working together in an open environment. The expectation is that creative juices will flow and new friendships will be forged. Hope to see you there!

Register to attend the Cincinnati Telecommuter Tweetup/Meetup here.

When: Friday, November 14th

Where: Crossroads Community Church
3500 Madison Rd.
Cincinnati, OH 45209
