I think another great idea is to help others that are looking for jobs along side you. If you are helpful in placing applicants you meet, you could be remembered and may even make new friends where you never imagined possible. It's possible they may remember you when they find out about a job opening in their company or through other friends. Always help others when you can and you will find that you too will be rewarded. It always pays to build bridges rather than burn them.
