My Thanksgiving Wish: Remember Where You Came From

It’s been 8 1/2 years since I started my first job in the world of recruiting. It’s been a wild ride from the very beginning, but I refer to the line at the top of my blog, and also the one in my email signature, that says, “Never forget where you came from… and always reach back.” Words I heard from a wise man around 2003, just shortly after joining this industry. Words I strive to live by. And with Thanksgiving closing in on us this week, this is something I really want to focus on.

Do I always do it? HECK no. I’m not perfect. Not even close. I’ll never claim to be. I stick my foot in my mouth more times than I can count. I get ticked off and I show it. I tick others off. I make mistakes – lots of them. I judge – probably you, at some point in time. I am HUMAN. We all do these things.

But what separates us from the animals is the fact that we are self-aware. We are capable of reasoning. And we have the capability, and more importantly the choice, to love, cherish, and appreciate everything and everyone around us.

Why Using Keywords In Your URLs Is Important

I use a social network aggregation tool to track several keyword searches, both for personal and professional use. One of the search columns I have, naturally, is for the keyword “sourcecon“. I want to know who’s talking about it and referring to it so I can respond when it’s appropriate.
