About Me

I currently work as a Sr. Talent Sourcer with Microsoft’s Windows Phone group. Prior to this, I worked for ERE Media, Inc., a publishing company that serves the recruiting, staffing, and HR community. There I was in charge of our Fordyce and SourceCon brands – I was the Editor of both The Fordyce Letter, the only publication specifically catered to 3rd party search and placement professionals, and SourceCon.com, which provides knowledge and news to recruiting researchers and sourcers. I was also in charge of programming the corresponding conferences for these publications as well - SourceCon and the Fordyce Forum.

I got started in internet research nearly a decade ago. Please take a look at how I became interested in internet research to begin with – it’s kind of a cool story! I started off in 2002 as the sole researcher for an MRI-affiliated executive search firm in Ohio. After four years, I joined a recruiting franchisor based in northern Ohio as the Manager of Internet Research where I provided research support to franchise offices and implemented, customized, and conducted training classes for contact management databases, passive researching techniques and personal online branding. In 2007, I left the agency world and moved over to the “dark side”, taking a position with Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, a PR agency based in Seattle, as a Sourcing Strategist, where I helped increase the digital footprint of the agency’s staffing efforts. Most recently, I worked with AT&T as a Talent Attraction Manager where I helped with social media employment branding efforts, looking for new and creative ways to attract and engage potential candidates. I also worked with the Campus Recruiting team there, helping to spread the word about AT&T’s college leadership development programs.

In related activities outside of work, I am deeply involved with local social media efforts – when I lived in Cincinnati I started the Jelly Cincinnati co-working group, and in Bellingham, WA I helped organize the Bellingham Social Media group and the Social Media Breakfast Bellingham meetups. Now that I am in Bellevue (Seattle) WA, I am involved with the Board of the Northwest Recruiters Association (NWRA) as well as the S7+ sourcing special interest group as the President. I’ve also had the privilege of speaking at SourceCon, the Fordyce Forum, and Social Recruiting Summit, and I have had articles featured on such well-known websites as The Fordyce Letter, ERE, Brazen Careerist, and Mashable.

I’m a University of Florida graduate (go Gators!) and currently I live in Bellevue, WA.
